Paralegal
Sarku Japan, the largest and most successful Japanese Quick Service Restaurant operator in the United States requires an experienced Paralegal. Based at our Markham Headquarters, the successful applicant may avoid a daily commute to downtown.
As part of the company’s development team which is responsible for all new and renewal store deals, the incumbent will report to the Director, Legal and Development responsible for providing in-house legal services across a broad spectrum of business activities including franchising, retail real estate and insurance claims.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lease negotiation, administration, drafting and other lease related matters
- Litigation support
- Drafting and review of commercial agreements and documents
- Trademark registrations
- US regulatory compliance
- Corporate secretarial support
Qualifications and requirements:
- Candidates with related work experience in the retail QSR restaurant or shopping centre industry preferred
- U.S. experience a major plus
- Strong negotiation and drafting skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to articulate complex legal issues in simple language
- Intimate knowledge of LL and tenant key requirements
- Personal pride in thoroughness and accuracy
- Ability to work in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment
- A business mined team player
- Proficiency in MS Office
